While Zack Snyder and Batman V. Superman are currently being lambasted by critics(and now, some audiences), it’s easy to acknowledge there are a few things Snyder gets right in this movie, and most of his movies.
One of them, is fight sequences. It’s easy to still remember the incredible death of The Comedian scene in Watchmen, or the iconic Spartans vs. Immortals showdown in 300. And in Batman V. Superman, we get two pretty solid fight sequences from him as well, the actual Batman vs. Superman battle royale, which is more evenly matched than you might imagine, and Batman vs. a warehouse full of thugs.
Sadly, I am not including the final Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday fight, as that’s more of a CGI explosion-fest that anything with terribly beautiful choreography.
I think most viewers will agree that Batman mostly steals this entire movie, and it’s his 1v20 sequence in the warehouse that is in fact the best action scene of the film.
It is also highly, highly evocative of Rocksteady’s Arkham games, which created an iconic fighting style for video game Batman that was unlike anything else that came before it.
